These schools and colleges have now closed.
Ysgol Gyfun Rhydfelen – This was the first welsh-medium school in Wales. It closed in 2006 and moved to Church Village where the school is now called Garth Olwg.
Glantâf Infants School – This was and English medium primary school which closed in 2012-13.
Coleg Morgannwg Rhydfelen – This was on College Way in Rhdyfelin. The site of the former college is now a library and housing.
